Notice this word: thanksgiving- not wanting, not operating from desperation, but giving thanks for what you know is already on the way. The Quran talks about the concept of what’s called. Tawakkul, or complete trust in God’s plan after you’ve made your request, right? So you make your request and have complete trust. You ask, and you must receive, and most people don’t understand that prayer and manifestation aren’t two different things; they’re the same technology in different languages.
What is manifestation? It’s living in the reality of your wish fulfilled. What is proper prayer? It’s giving thanks for what you desire, knowing that if you’ve asked, you will receive a quick interruption.
Let me share this experience with you: I really wanted a personal relationship with my higher power, like a divine father, someone who takes care of me. So, about a year ago. I decided I wanted a personal relationship with God. A few months later, I was inspired to start a journaling practice I want to share with you, and it’s really helped me build a more personal relationship with my higher power.

So that practice is this. I sit down, actually, in this room where I do my work at home, and I realise that all the things that I ask my higher power for, my God, are, by my own definition, loving, giving, omniscient, omnipotent, all-powerful, and resourceful.
Whether I already have it or desire it, I give thanks for it because I know my God will give it to me. So that’s step one. I see you, dear Father. Thank you for my family. Thank you for the home we live in. Thank you for my incredible wife. Thank you for my son. Thank you for my health and for my body. Now, my health and my body are exactly where I want them to be.
But I know that I’ve already asked for certain things: better sleep, more vibrancy, more energy, less brain fog. And I know who I’m asking. I’m asking the Almighty; I’m asking the creator of the universe. So I don’t feel the need to ask for things I don’t have. I give thanks for those things, knowing that I actually already have them. They’re on the way. Then I ask, like I imagine my son asks for things from his father, almost in a demanding way, right? I’m like, dear God, give me more influence in the world.
You know, dear God, let millions of people read my book. You know, dear God, let hundreds of millions hear this podcast. And, dear God, bring the right people into my organisation so we can keep growing and scaling our impact. You know, dear God, bring me the solutions that I need to sleep more effectively, right, because I’ve had challenges with sleep over the years, which, by the way. They have gotten much, much better, thank you, God.

So there’s this fuzzy area where I give thanks for the things I already have. I give thanks for the things I want, if I have them, and I have no problem asking God for more, like a spoiled divine child, knowing that God loves me and that, for all of those things that are in his will, those things shall be given to me. So that’s my first. First step: give thanks for what I have. The second step is that I start asking for things like a spoiled child of God.
Step 3 is asking for others. And what’s interesting is, as I journal, I’m getting into this frequency of knowing this, knowing that what I ask I will receive and knowing that when I ask for others, meaning I pray for others, what I’m asking for is already done for them. Right. I ask for their health. I ask for their Wellness. I ask for their overcoming of addiction. I ask for guidance for them and their business and their worthy mission in the world. I ask for harmony in their lives. So, as I encounter the people I care about, some I know well, some I don’t know as well, I can pray for them.
I can ask for people I see suffering in the world. The ending of the refugee crisis I can ask for. The ending of armed conflict, not for myself but for others. But I know who I’m asking. I’m asking the God of my understanding and almighty God and all-knowing God and all-powerful God. A God who can part the Red Sea and can feed 5000 from a loaf of bread and a couple of fish.

A God who can throw his power through us. Resurrect the dead, heal the lepers. That’s who I ask for, right? A miracle-performing God who performs miracles in and of himself, and who performs miracles through us. The power that he has infused inside of us, right. Our soul and all our spirit. And so that’s my process. It takes me, yeah, 3 parts, right: Thanksgiving. Boldly asking for myself and boldly asking for others.
And every single time I finish this process, I have to tell you I’m in an incredibly high vibrational state. I leave this room in an incredibly high vibrational state; l literally feel like I just had a meeting with God because I did.
I spent 10/15/20 minutes in the frequency of Thanksgiving and the vibration of asking and knowing that I will receive it. In the vibration of compassion and caring for others and seeing their future outcomes as positive and beneficial and already done. In fact, you could say. Through this practice, I elevated myself into the God frequency, into a personal relationship with my higher power, because God is the frequency of gratitude, receiving, compassion and asking for others. This is a process, a journaling process for proper prayer.
And I promise you, if you do this every morning for the next 30 days, you will not recognise your life as the same. And you will realise that, in fact, all the things that you’ve been asking for. You already have, so I hope this episode has been as powerful for you as it is for me to share, because it reminds me of what’s true for me, and what I often forget too. If it’s shifted the way you think about prayer, I want to invite you to go even deeper into how your beliefs, your identity and your Interstate create your outer reality. Here is part one in case you missed it. You can read the part one here.
